Public image Ltd - Live in March 2012.  (Thanks Mick & internet).

PiL's first two gigs of the year were broadcast in their entirety online, with the band showcasing 2 brand new numbers from the forthcoming album.

On March 16th the band played at the Music 6 birthday celebrations at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in central London. The sound quality, despite being from the mixing desk could have been much better. Lydon's vocals sounded too distant and Lu's guitar wasn't clear enough.

On March 19th the band played an exteremely intimate show at the Boiler Room in London as part of the launch event for Record Store Day, The entire show was broadcast online, although the video was all but unwatchable. The sound however was absolutely perfect.

The audio for both of these recordings was captured with Goldwave at 1536kbps.

Since both of these mixing desk shows were broadcast wholly, the bootleg market will surely be flooded with Japanese releases pretty soon.

Artwork is DVD slimline case format.

Here is an audio sample from the secret gig on the 19th.

LONG LIVE PiL!

London, UK, Heaven - 2.4.2012.

The longest PiL show in history? Who knows, but one of the best definitely.

First night in Heaven was good, but the second was in a different league. One of the security told me that he's seen 60+ bands at Heaven but none of them can compare to PiL.

The club itself probably has the best PA in London. And the loudest as well. At certain points I thought my ears would get damaged!

They jumbled up the setlist a bit to keep things interesting and dropped 4 Enclosed Walls for the 2nd night.

Show recorded at 48kHz/16bit with trusty DR680 + Shure/Neumann combination.

MP3 samples below, including John Lydon's hilarious address to the public at the end of the gig.

Disc three: 85 mins of FHD footage, currently in production.

Manchester, The Ritz - 7.8.2012.  (Thanks Mick).

I felt Manchester was a pretty duff show in many ways. Newcastle the night before was infinitely better. The sound in Manchester was especially bad for the first 3 or 4 songs, but gradually improved throughout the night.

Poor vocal performance from Lydon throughout. Crappy venue. Not a memorable gig really.

Recorded with a DR680.
